Acrylic on Canvas
A few minutes past Huntsville, Ontario, travelling Highway 11 one passes the sign "Entering the Near North". The rock faces appear along the road way, the rugged forests and terrain layout below a seemingly widened sky. Somewhere between South River and Powassan, the artist captured this small inlet of water and tree line with vivid greens, blues and a warm autumn glow upon the rocks.
"Near North" was created with thick impasto acrylics using a 1/2" canvas.
